2. How does the Multi-Energie method work?
The Multi-Energy method focuses solely on the overpressure effects associated with an explosion, and does not deal with thermal effects.
Lethal effects due to thermal radiation correspond approximately to the maximum extension distance of the LEL. Significant effects are close to the LEL distance and are associated with 110% of the maximum LEL extension distance.
The Multi-Energy method is used to assess pressure decay outside the flammable cloud. It is applied in four stages.
