3. Traceability in sustainable development

Sustainable development is a fast-growing field. Standards and approaches have been appearing since the 2000s, and even institutional initiatives, with the creation in France of a specific ministry: the Ministry of Ecology, Energy, Sustainable Development and the Sea (MEEDDAT), with the website http://www.developpement-durable.gouv.fr , clearly demonstrating the enduring interest of this notion. The theme of sustainable development was also addressed at France's first traceability trade show in 2004.
