6. Our advice

6.1 Focus on databases specific to your industry

Before using values from a database, it is necessary to check that the sector of activity to which the risk analysis relates is actually covered by the database. It is advisable to give preference to sector-specific databases whenever they exist, as they report values that are representative of the sector covered by the analysis (similar operating conditions, etc.). As part of the ESD process, the French authorities almost systematically ask manufacturers to justify their choice of databases.
