4. When should you use quantified databases?
These databases report quantified values. They are therefore of particular interest for quantifying risk analyses. In the context of ESDs, these databases are used in the preliminary analysis phase, but above all during the detailed risk analysis phase.
There are two types of banks:
sector banks, which are specific to a given business sector (gas transport, offshore operations, etc.);
generic banks, which compile values from a variety of sources and are therefore not specific to a particular sector of activity.
