6. Conclusion
The aim of this article is to show that digital technology and agro-ecology are not mutually exclusive, and that digital technology has the potential to make a significant contribution to the agro-ecological transition. To achieve this, it is imperative to have a clear understanding of the direct, indirect, positive and negative impacts of digital technology in agriculture, and this requires the development of consequential lifecycle analyses for the digital tools and services envisaged.
In France, agriculture accounts for around 20% of greenhouse gas emissions, and digital technology, whatever the sector and its use, accounts for 2.5% of these emissions.
