6. Conclusions

Throughout this presentation, it has become clear that water possesses exceptional properties, some of which contradict what one might expect based on comparisons with other substances. These properties have given water a vital role on Earth. A liquid under ambient conditions but capable of existing in all three states, it regulates climates as well as the body temperatures of living beings; it helps erode rocks to create agricultural soil; and it shapes the functioning of life and human activities. It is the most universal solvent, though with certain limitations (for example, noble metals).

Most of water’s properties are due to its unique molecular structure, which can change under the influence of a given solute. Can water molecules, however, retain the imprint of a solute to the point of preserving properties of the initial solution during successive dilutions...
