6. Survey on the quality of water distributed in France

Every three years, France draws up a report on the quality of the water it distributes. This report is sent to the European Commission. The latest report available to date is that for 2015, which concerns analyses carried out in 2014.

6.1 Microbiological quality

For microbiological parameters, 97.1% of the population was supplied with water that consistently complied with the quality limits set by regulations (Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci).

100% of distribution networks serving more than 50,000 inhabitants supplied water of good microbiological quality throughout 2014, compared with almost 80% of distribution networks serving fewer than 500 inhabitants.
