1. Context

Solid-phase nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is currently undergoing remarkable instrumental and methodological developments. These include the use of increasingly intense external B 0 fields (B 0 = 23.5 T, Larmor frequency associated with the proton: ~ 1 GHz), increases in sensitivity over several orders of magnitude, and the implementation of new NMR signal acquisition methods.

Quadrupole nuclei (i.e. those with nuclear spin I > 1/2, with I integer or half-integer) make up around 75% of the magnetically active nuclei in the periodic table. Examples include 2 H (I = 1), 14 N (I = 1), 23 Na (I = 3/2), 27...
