2. Motorization aspects

2.1 Connected vehicle models

A connected vehicle (CV) does not imply that its propulsion is electric, or even that the vehicle is totally autonomous in its driving or propulsion. Four models of connected vehicle can be considered: the first with conventional combustion engine propulsion (gas, petrol or diesel), the second with a fuel cell, the third with energy recovered from solar radiation and stored in exchangeable batteries, and the fourth involving hybrid models combining a conventional combustion engine with an engine using innovative technology. In all cases, research and development work is calling into question all the elements involved in vehicle design, as we have known them until now.
