1.1 History of the autonomous driving vehicle
The creation of a self-driving vehicle is part of the history of automata and robots. In 1925, the American company Houdina Radio Control introduced a radio-controlled car onto the streets of New York. In the 1950s, the British industry TRRL (Transport and Road Research Laboratory) launched the promotion of "filoguidage", a robotic process used today in industrial logistics centers, to guide a car over cables buried in the ground. In 1960, French cybernetics engineer Albert Ducrocq made a name for himself with his "electronic foxes", metal-detecting robots.
