5. Conclusion

Today, 3D printing alone is used to create unique structures (street furniture: benches, bus stops, planters, facade panels or road screens, etc.) that do not require detailed material characterization and standardized structural dimensioning. By combining 3D printing with reinforced concrete in mixed structures, and with a suitable design, it is possible to create structural structures that comply with standards, and for which the 3D-printed part will enhance architectural possibilities and optimize environmental and economic performance. However, the use of this technology is still confined to highly technical, high-value-added structures, but the development of technologies and materials, as well as the adaptation of standards and design methodologies, could enable it to be used on a much larger scale in tomorrow's construction world.
