5. Raman spectroscopy: analysis tools and criteria

Elemental analysis methods lead to composition lists, the data for which is processed in the usual way: comparison of major elements, search for correlations for minor and trace elements to trace circulations and sources of raw materials. This approach is very effective for rare minerals: typical examples are cobalt ores, where associated elements (Mn, Fe, Ni, As...) mark specific sites
