5. Conclusion
In the short term (2020) regarding the future of the Internet of Things, and despite the significant threats and challenges posed, there is every reason to be confident in the capacity and resources of the IoT community. The EC, European researchers (IERC), public and private pilots are coordinating and cooperating with standardization bodies, alliances, consortia from all over the world, developers, operations managers, users, SMEs, innovative industrialists, open source projects to offer more interoperable, open, secure IoT applications, compliant with European regulations, security standards, data protection standards and privacy rules that can give confidence in the Internet of Things that is becoming part of our daily lives.
Work to mature the IoT market will also need to incorporate new technological trends underway and those to come: 5G offering 'real-time'...
