1.1 Major developments in Europe's digital single market

The ambition of the European Union (EU) is to create a Digital Single Market (DSM) for Europe, a source of economic activity and jobs. Together with the European Commission (EC), the EU supports digital activities with a research, innovation and standardization strategy in which the Internet of Things (IoT) plays a crucial role alongside 5G, Big Data, Cloud Computing and Cybersecurity.
