The gloom of the current climate is most evident in the day-to-day management of projects. In fact, two main complaints are raised regarding the way things unfold—what is commonly referred to as “the way things are.”
First, the project is perceived as having suddenly lost its purpose. By this, we mean that, despite increasingly sophisticated procedures, there is a loss of meaning. The assigned objectives focus more on execution performance than on achieving an impact on the broader context. The obsession with optimizing tasks takes precedence over the quality of the result. The question is no longer why a project is undertaken, but rather how to speed up its progress and reduce time to market. The priority is to deliver a solution without knowing whether it is truly suited to the situation.
