Acoustic seals

In particular, they can dampen vibrations from one or other of the components they connect. Readers confronted with undesirable noise or vibrations can insert a flexible sealant of sufficient thickness to prevent these vibrations, for example, in the passage of pipes, or on the casing of elevator machinery.

Earthquake-resistant joints

They are covered by the DTU "PS-MI 89 Construction parasismique des maisons individuelles et bâtiments assimilés, référence AFNOR DTU P 06-008" of May 1990. This DTU stipulates, among other things, that joints must be flat, at least 4 cm wide and free of any material. Joint covers must not allow one block to transmit a significant force to the neighboring block. Between two adjoining buildings, there must be a complete break joint at least 10 cm wide.
