16. Roofing
Roofs are highly exposed: to rain, wind and snow, and caulking products need to be chosen according to the climatic conditions of each region or country.
In addition, these roofs are made up of different components that need to be combined, jointed and caulked to ensure continuity: tiles and slates, roof panels, metal roofing panels, flashings, gutters, acroteria, emerging parts such as chimneys, vents, skylights, roof windows such as velux, sheds, roof glazing.
Tile and slate roofs don't require caulking between these small elements, as they are watertight thanks to their tight, clever overlap, but they do require caulking for continuity solutions between tiles and slates and other materials.
The other components require a caulking system, which we will now examine.
