Sealing joints in the building industry. Applications

The aim here is to seal a joint, usually inside a building, against the penetration of water frequently spilled over the joint in damp areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, showers, swimming pools and interior or exterior tiled surfaces.

Joints between sanitaryware and walls: the wall and floor must be protected from water, which could damage an adjacent or underlying plaster or chipboard wall.

Tiled surfaces: the wall below or the room on the floor below must be protected against water penetration.

Laboratories, factories: you may need to protect the floor or the room below against the ingress of water or even aggressive chemicals.

In all these cases, at least one of the materials is ceramic-based, and the choice of sealant immediately goes to silicone sealants, which have excellent adhesion,...
