Although the control of a MOSFET transistor requires only the application of a constant voltage, the control circuit may have to deliver transiently high currents (up to several amperes) and very short durations (some 10 ns) during switching phases to ensure the charging and discharging of its input capacitance. Control circuit sizing and wiring must therefore be carefully designed and implemented.
