Cryogenic transfer lines Under vacuum lines

Personnel operating cryogenic equipment must be trained in the risks associated with fluids, in particular gases such as oxygen and hydrogen, and the risks associated with cryogenics (burns, anoxia, liquid entrapment, etc.).

The vacuum line manufacturer's maintenance procedures must be made available to maintenance personnel.

An annual visual inspection of the entire length of the line is recommended to :

• check for the presence or development of frost or ice patches (figure 44 ). The development of frost patches or ice indicates degradation of components such as Johnston fittings or insulation voids;

• check that vacuum taps are in place and unobstructed. The absence of a vacuum...
