3.1 Definition of the partial electricity mix
The partial mix, which must balance the remaining load, is defined by a first parameter: the overall share taken by intermittent renewable energies (IRE: wind and PV), the value of their production being expressed as a percentage of the remaining load.
To maximize the share of renewable energies, we can aim to generate up to 100% of this load. At this level, there would be no need for any other (fossil) energy source if the renewable energies were able to adapt to the remaining load.
