2. Yaw-drift model: stability, transient movements
In this section, we first examine whether the stationary state found in the previous section is a stable state, i.e. one that can persist despite small disturbances. Then, in the second part, we'll look at transient movements, i.e. how the system evolves following the disturbance before stabilizing. We'll see that two circumstances can be identified in which these transient movements occur.
