4. Building the prioritization matrix
4.1 Principle of the Potential × Ease Matrix
The prioritization matrix uses two axes to position each identified action:
Vertical axis – Savings potential: high (> 10% of the item’s consumption), medium (5–10%), low (< 5%);
horizontal axis – Ease of implementation: assessed based on OEE, technical complexity, and operational risk.
The matrix below is used to classify each action into five priority levels.
