Outlook

The Scilab Consortium and its operational team were created in May 2003. Since then, Scilab has been undergoing professional development, culminating in version 3.0, released in July 2004. This version has already seen considerable improvements, particularly in terms of ergonomics and performance, with the new object-oriented graphics and the new version for Windows. But the work is not over, and we need to increase both Scilab's reputation and its functionality, with the planned release of the next major version 4.0 in early 2006, which may include :

• professional-quality documentation;

• a translator from Scilab to Matlab ;

• a Scicos toolbox on a par with Simulink ;

• an improved man-machine interface ;

• an SDK...
