 INTRODUCTION

The use of high-energy ion beams for elemental chemical analysis is now possible on large objects or those that cannot be placed in a vacuum. After their use in the art appraisal sector, it's now the turn of bottles of fine old wines to be authenticated by these techniques. In addition to increasing our knowledge of the history of manufacturing processes, this is a new tool in the fight against counterfeiting.
