In our economic world, counterfeiting affects all areas of intellectual and industrial property:

• copyright and related rights: unauthorized reproduction of an artistic creation or software belonging to a third party;

• patent: unauthorized production and offering for sale of a copy of a product still protected by a patent and, where applicable, a supplementary protection certificate;

• Trademark: total or partial reproduction or imitation of a trademark without the authorization of its owner;

• Designs: use or reproduction of a protected shape or design, close to or identical to the original, without the authorization of its owner;

• plant varieties: unauthorized use of a plant variety belonging to a third party;
