5.1 Function to be performed
The choice of GAW type will depend on the work to be carried out and the type of load to be transported.
If storage is required, VAGs with conveyors and lifting platforms are not the best choice. A small storage area on the ground can easily be served by a pallet truck.
For racking, the transverse stacker or the front cantilever stacker are the best choice.
Only the cantilever front stacker is the ideal candidate for surface storage with multi-layer stacking.
