1. Load characteristics

The weight and dimensions of loads are the first elements to be determined. They are used to calculate actual and rated capacities required. When calculating the capacity of the appliance, the height of the loads should be taken into account if they exceed the standard height.

Determining a load's center of gravity is generally straightforward, but care must be taken to ensure that loads are homogeneous and that there are no accidental load shifts, e.g. when a load is tipped forward.

While at first glance it may seem simple to put these elements together, experience shows that, on the one hand, they are not always known precisely and completely, and, on the other hand, it is necessary to anticipate changing needs, because logistics must always be able to adapt to changing needs.
