4. Selecting forklift features
Once the data relating to the load, the tasks and the environment have been collated, it is possible to define the family of forklift trucks to be used: cantilever forklift truck, retractable forklift truck, pallet truck, rider or pedestrian, etc. The presentation of the various self-propelled forklift trucks in article and illustrated by the summary table on figure 1 can be used as a guide for this choice.
