INTRODUCTION
The adjective "commune" clearly reflects the shared nature of conurbation living, and the consequent need to satisfy the need for exchanges between people, businesses and services. The interweaving of flow management and the harmonious development of the city is obvious. Logistics, having established itself as a major tool for business competitiveness, is now becoming a key factor in the efficient organization of cities.
This notion of efficiency involves the creation of Urban Logistics Facilities (UFFs), which are presented here in the second part of the article, after setting out the context for urban exchanges in the first part. This is followed by a look at the challenges facing these tools and their place in the producer/consumer relationship, discussed in the final part of the article.
