Conclusion

Taking safety into account in automated systems inevitably means taking into account the requirements of human activity, as well as organizational factors. This necessarily involves participative ergonomics and the application of the new approach to standardization. Design logic must strike a balance between the autonomy required of the human operator (adaptability, initiative, etc.) to deal with unforeseen situations, and the rules and procedures structuring the work as a whole. Hollnagel [21] emphasizes that while human performance is inevitably variable, it is not unreliable. Indeed, on the one hand, it reflects different working conditions, and on the other, deviations from this performance (whether positive or negative) are opportunities to improve the system.
