Scheduling has a number of important specificities, depending on the characteristics of the workshops and products under consideration. First, we'll take a look at the main types of shop floor we usually distinguish, then we'll list the types of problems they present.
1.1 Different types of workshops
A very classic classification of workshops is based on the nature and location of the resources needed to manufacture the products. As we shall see, this classification is also closely linked to the nature and quantity of products produced. The main distinctions are
