4. Quality and research

To avoid any ambiguity, we need to make a clear distinction between the notions of "research quality" and "quality in research".

The Ministry of Education and Research proposes the following definition:

"Quality in research concerns the quality of approaches and procedures, not the quality of the research itself, which can only be assessed by peers".

This peer review is in line with the principle of continuous improvement when publishing articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

As Vincent Dollé explains on the same site: "Quality in research means constantly striving to improve research practices that guarantee the reliability of products and results, and that enable us to trace the actions and projects undertaken, and the samples handled"....
