7. Conclusion

The analysis of material reversibility highlights that a process’s ability to reintegrate its material flows into a functional cycle depends largely on how materials are assembled and transformed. Natural systems provide a useful reference, demonstrating that effective closed-loop systems rely on transformations compatible with the separation and recombination of elements. Conversely, processes involving complex mixtures, irreversible reactions, or significant dispersions greatly reduce the possibility of returning to a usable state.

A study of materials and industrial processes shows that certain design choices make it possible to maintain a high level of reversibility, particularly when purity, separability, and chemical simplicity are preserved.
