Usually, the concept of automation refers simultaneously to two aspects of an organization's evolution. On the one hand, it conveys the idea of a technological breakthrough, and on the other, the idea of the "mechanization" of task scheduling. From the moment the computer becomes a fully-fledged decision-maker, alongside the human being in the control system, the impact of automation on the structure of the control system is much greater, and therefore more difficult to control. Consequently, the greater the computer's presence in the control system, the more crucial it is to clearly identify the distribution of roles and responsibilities between man and machine, to ensure the smooth running of the whole.
