1. Emotions

Emotions are still too often understood as opposed to reason. They are generally described as disruptive, as elements that affect our judgment in a negative way, which we need to suppress in order to perform well. In this article, we argue the opposite: without emotions, there can be no reasoned decision .

Emotion is the ally of reason, and it's when the two work together in harmony that we perform best. Emotion is information we need to decode if we are to adapt successfully to the demands of our environment.
