1. Impact of the intranet on organizations in 2011

Observing the reality of the intranet in 2011 confirms that the effects of the social intranet are exerted in five synergistic dimensions of relationship: to time, to space, to work, to the individual and to others (figure 1 ).

  In just a few years, the intranet has evolved from an episodic application to an always-on system. Its extension, its universality of use through its collaborative functions, make it a support for employability, skills development and productivity.
