3. Manufacture of glass bottles, jars and flasks by moulding
Automated industrial production of glass bottles, jars and flasks is carried out according to the following general process:
preparation of the vitrifiable mixture [sand + sodium carbonate + calcium carbonate + cullet (recycled glass) + secondary components] ;
melting the vitrifiable mixture in furnaces (oil, gas or electric);
thermal conditioning of molten glass for forming ;
blank forming then final blowing ;
annealing to release mechanical stress;
external surface treatments for hardening and lubrication ;
functional checks (geometry, appearance, mechanical properties) ;
packaging for storage and transport...
