INTRODUCTION
This dossier is part of a series designed to help all industrialists to study, purchase and/or design packaging systems for all kinds of dry and solid products in powder or granulated form, as well as for small objects that can be counted, weighed, conveyed and packaged on production lines.
These products or small objects can be very diverse:
food products (pasta, sugar, cookies, sweets, rice) ;
or non-food products (screws, nails, stationery, glues and DIY products, etc.).
For the sake of completeness, this presentation will also cover packaging systems used mainly in the food industry, such as cookie or chocolate tray packaging.
These same systems can also be used in other industries, where production rates are high (paper mills, CD disks, etc.).
We will cover the successive stages: counting or weighing, filling various containers, closing or sealing, marking and possibly grouping several individual packages.
However, the grouping of unit packs will be examined in detail in a later dossier.
This dossier is the second in a series dealing with medium and high-speed packaging machines:
packaging of food liquids (or semi-liquids) in glass or plastic containers;
packing and packaging of dry products, solids, powders, small objects (this document), in bags, pouches, cardboard boxes, bagged trays, trays ;
end-of-line machines
: conveyors, grouping of various packages, overwrapping, case packers, robots, palletizers, wrapping, marking, adhesive tapes, etc., and metal packaging of liquid, pasty or solid products;[AG 6 602] packaging for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, cleaning products, etc., and special techniques.
