The budget for CMMS software is made up of several cost items that need to be carefully considered when making your choice.
A distinction must be made between one-off costs (known as one-shot costs) and costs that can be renewed annually.
3.1 User licenses and access rights
CMMS software is usually offered in the form of :
user licenses (single-user version, LAN, intranet): each workstation must have its own license; a license must also be provided for the server; in financial terms, publishers often distinguish between "server" licenses (a minimum of one per configuration) and "workstation" licenses (as many as there are user workstations);
