3. Maintainability

As with reliability, we are primarily interested in concepts. For the theoretical aspects and calculations, readers can refer to the reference [2] .

Maintainability is defined as the ability of a device to be maintained (preventive maintenance) or restored (corrective maintenance) to its operating condition, with a particular focus on the time required to perform these maintenance operations.

When quantifying this parameter, this capability is expressed as the probability of performing the maintenance operation within a time period no longer than t.

For example: maintainability (10 hours) = 90%, which implies that in 10% of cases, it must be accepted...
