The applications of aminoplasts 5 , both in the form of resins and molding materials, are often very similar to those of phenoplasts, so processing is carried out in a similar way (please refer to the article Phenoplasts or Phenols-formols PF . The following paragraphs only specify, where necessary, the conditions applicable to aminoplasts and mention specific applications.

1.1 Resins
Urea-based resins generally take the form of a syrup (aqueous solution) containing 50-65% solids. Some wood glues come in UF powder form, sometimes containing a hardener. Liquid glues may contain a filler (e.g. wood flour).
Melamine- or melamine/phenol-based resins are marketed in syrup or powder form....
