4. Developments in line management

Some leading manufacturers in the extrusion industry are offering increasingly advanced solutions that utilize:

• 3D computer modeling;

• data processing that enables the resolution of encountered problems by drawing on past solutions from similar processes in terms of materials, cable types, etc.

• Data processing becomes artificial intelligence when it is capable of learning—that is, when it can progressively incorporate new data, even combining it with modeling. To achieve this, we can use predictive analytics, neural networks, and deep learning. These are the methods we encounter today under the names big data, Industry 4.0, data mining, etc.
