2. Quality parameters and their measurements

In order to produce cable or wire with the required specifications, it is necessary to take various measurements during the different stages of raw material dosing, followed by the insulation or sheathing stages. The measurement of the cold insulation diameter, after the cooling tanks (Figure 2 ), is performed on all lines (communication, fiber optic, power). Depending on the application, the following are also measured:

• the circularity of this diameter;

• the concentricity of the conductor and the insulation;

• insulation continuity (spark tester)....
