2. Properties of epoxy resins

2.1 General

Separate product specifications are covered in , as they are used to control the raw materials delivered to the user.

The main properties of epoxy resins are listed below:

  • the final phase, in which the resin is cross-linked with a hardener, is a polyaddition reaction: hence minimal shrinkage, with the possibility of casting very large masses;

  • the low water absorption and absence of post-shrinkage give these products exceptional dimensional stability, making them ideal for use in tooling, in particular for reproduction models, drilling jigs, master models... ;

  • their ability to maintain their initial electrical performance,...
