2. Using injection molding machines: adjustment

2.1 Injection cycle

2.1.1 Context

The cycle sequence includes mold closing and locking, followed by pontoon support, melt injection and holding, part cooling and dosing in masked time, mold opening and part ejection.

When the mold is closed, locked and the pontoon is supported, the screw position is the same as at the end of dosing or at the end of suction, plus a possible displacement caused by material expansion due to heating or decompression.
