3. Implementation

The process is carried out on a special machine capable of dosing and mixing the constituent products and injecting them into a mold.

3.1 Machines

Their function is to ensure reliable dosing and mixing of components. They consist of the following components:

  • two storage tanks containing components A and B respectively, temperature-controlled and maintained under nitrogen pressure, and sometimes fitted with agitators;

  • two dosing units which dose the two components A and B using variable-flow high-pressure pumps. Components A and B pass directly through the pump housings. The pump types used are vertical, axial or radial piston; both component A and component B are based on dicyclopentadiene...
