2. Measurement methods

All RTD measurements are based on the detection, via its concentration, of a tracer introduced at the entry of the process. This introduction can take the form of a Dirac pulse (instantaneous) (figure 3 a) or a step change (figure 3 b). Tracer concentration C(t) is measured at the output and the RTD functions are calculated according to:
