2. Energy recovery

Rubber products have an interesting calorific value. If we consider tires, three tons of products have the same calorific value as two tons of heavy fuel oil (lecaoutchouc.com).

Manufacturing waste is sometimes used as a fuel, with limitations linked to its composition.

For example, halogen content must not exceed 2%, which limits the incineration of polychloroprene (rubber made from a chlorinated monomer).
