2. Underwater environment

The deep environment is essentially characterized by the effect of hydrostatic pressure. As a first approximation, a pressure increase of 0.1 MPa is conventionally assumed for every 10 m of depth. To be more precise and take into account the compressibility of water, the following approximate formula can be used:
